But that's the other way around. In general, if you take any American
rework of foreign movies (for example, French ones, ie: Nikita->Nina)
it'll be either inferior to the original or great, but very distant
from it (in this particular case, I'm taking as example Kurosawa's
Seven Samurais and the US movie The Magnificent Seven).
