Um, gee...  what part of (literal) "Adam and Lilith are the same sources of life"
are you unclear on?  :P
FYI, the second time the liner notes mention this is in the question: "If so [ie:
if Adam is the 1st Angel], then is the same source of life Lilith the 2nd Angel?"

I think both of these make it quite clear that Adam and Lilith are the
same/equivalent with no room for quibbling.

Except that Seele (= holders of the SDSS) was supposedly not aware of Rei's true
nature, but they were aware of Lilith's existence.  This means that Rei cannot be
included in the Angel numbering, but Lilith could be included.
