Well since I'm the one who said that particular quote, may as well
elaborate. I'm not bashing the VA, I'm sure she's a good VA and all, I'm
more upset with whoever decided to use that particular voice for Maya.
Watching the subbed version and just by looking at Maya you can tell that
she's supposed to have a quiet, sweet and innocent sounding voice. The
japanese actor pulls it off perfectly. Then you hear it in english, and they
gave her about the manliest voice for a woman you can find. A deep, dull and
tough sounding voice. Now I'm sure that voice would do good on some other
character, but Maya? C'mon, anyone who watches a single episode should be
able to tell that that particular VA doesn't fit her. I'm not bashing the VA
or anything cause I know she worked hard on that role, I'm bashing the fool
who decided to use that particular person for that role.
