[EVA] Manga continuation - Stage 46: Part II

After skipping a month, I expected a bit more, but this month has hit a new low in terms of Eva
manga material.  Not only were there surprisingly few pages (it could/should have been combined
with the previous stage to make one good one), but there is extremely little dialog (the first
line by any character came after *9* pages), and the storyline follows the TV series so closely
that the frame images may just as well have been traced from the TV cel background art.  If it
weren't for the fact that it is nice to get another stage, I would almost have to call this
month's Eva manga an insult to the fans.  -_-

Stage 47 - Awakening: Part II

Scene: The battle continues inside the Geofront
Zeruel lashes out with its other arm at Eva-01, but Eva-01 raises its hand and brings it down
sharply on the incoming arm, shredding it into pieces. The shock wave from the blow slices
diagonally through Zeruel's ATF and sends the Angel crashing backwards to the ground with spurts
of blood. The Nerv HQ staff stare in stunned silence as Eva-01 drops to all fours and approaches
the fallen Zeruel in the manner of a rabid beast -- breath steaming from its mouth. Eva-01 slams
its hand down on Zeruel's face, pulls it away from the body, and bites savagely into the
stretched flesh as it starts to eat Zeruel. The sounds of tearing flesh and snapping bones echo
throughout the Geofront.
Misato: It's eating... the Angel...?
Maya (gagging): Uugh...
Ritsuko (shocked): Eva-01... is it taking the S^2 engine into itself?
(Maya escalates from gagging to puking)

Eva-01 rises to its feet, tilts its head upward, and roars. Its body bulges and pieces of its
armor burst off in all directions.
Ritsuko: The restraints...
Misato: Restraints?
Ritsuko: Yes, those are not armor plates; they are restraints for us to suppress the Eva's
inherent natural power. And now the Eva is freeing itself by its own power... (HQ staff stare in
shock, Maya gags/pukes) ...We can no longer stop the Eva now.
(Eva-01 roaring inside the Geofront)
Kaji: Eva-01's awakening and liberation... Seele won't stand still for this. Is this also part
of your scenario? Commander Ikari?
