[EVA] Did Shinji rape Asuka (in EoE)?

The starting scene in EoE isn't meant to be a finger to the fans, it
actually has relevance to the story. In the traincar scene during Pre-Third
Impact Instrumentality, Asuka calls Shinji on what he did, angry that he was
doing that all along instead of doing her. And Shinji (understandably) no
idea how to respond, given the puzzled look on his face.

In regards to the ending: Because the victims of 3I are able to return
(although Yui and Rei say "Everybody can return", I don't see how that could
apply to those who were long dead, say the victims of 2I), I see it as being
a second chance for humanity to start over again.
