Well, if we go look through the Giant Robot shows, we're bound to find a lot 
less than "all" that have a non-consequence ending...I mean, we're talking 
about shows notably among the recognizeable (and sometimes explicit) 
references in Eva, things like Ideon (everybody dies), Zanbot (everybody 
dies), Gundam (tons die, wars are lost)...

I'd rather stand by the "anime in general" alone.
