Series has been explained, fan art or works are just another way people try
to explain it; some people like to write dissertations, others like to write
fiction or draw art. To want to disprove one medium simply means to me one
thing; at some point in your life, you tried to do that (draw fan art, or
write fan fiction) and got so burned, you decided to wipe it from the face
of your fandom... too bad no one is willing to follow your lead.

I bet that must keep you awake at night.
