> Logical counterpoint: Anno grew so disgusted with the endless merchandising of Eva, the thousands of naked Asuka and Rei statuettes, that he put in the opening scene of End of Eva (not the whole thing just the first scene) as sort of a "this is what you fanboys are really like, you ignored our character study and just made a ton of porn" thing.

Point A) Anno did not direct Air. While his influence over EVA is great, there are other people who made it what it is and their contributions should not be neglected. Evidence strongly suggests that Anno was busy with Magokoro wo Kimi Ni, which took the brunt of his efforts.
Point B) While working on the films, Anno did direct and write an ode to EVA fandom, the audio drama. That's not the sort of thing that someone who hated fans would do.
Point C) Anno more than likely signed off on most of those merchandise you dislike.

Just because YOU dislike it does not mean that Anno does.

> All stems from that we only had bootleg fansubs of End of Eva for 5 years, and all were free to make up their own ending....that became fanfic, of a sort.

You continue to cite "bootleg fansubs" but still haven't responded to my request for a specific example of a line that VKLL got wrong in his translation that would justify your argument. Or Bochan_Bird's. Their translations are easily found. If you're going to argue that the fansubs were so egregiously wrong that they mislead fans for years, then you should be able to provide evidence backing up your claims. That is how arguments function. You present a claim, and then give evidence to back it up.

That you have yet to do so but continue to promote said claim does not reflect well upon you.
