I wonder if "CLAMP" managed to successfully change some aspects of that
mindset or not; after all, it's not unheard of that doujinshi circle artists
suddenly go Mainstream. Takeshi Azuma, AKA Kimimaru, from Studio Kimigabuchi
became a "household" name of sorts after doing Retake and is now doing a
serialized series (I believe on Shonen Jump) under the name of Super
Dreadnought Girl.
