To be honest, my main interest (and hope) is whether there's a business plan to release the films in the U.S. and make money off them--to monetize them, as Gen Fukunaga would say. The details of the release (the dub, etc.), are important, but they need to be part of a successful plan.
It's not that the Eva franchise is short of cash, but that the North American anime industry has contracted somewhat of late, and a successful Eva release would be a new vote of confidence. Funimation, however, seems to be in a good position, and to know what they're doing.
