As far as I'm aware, the regular edition is just disc
1 of the special edition.  So there should be nothing
in the regular edition which isn't in the special
edition.  The only possibility would be that the
regular edition booklet is different from the special
edition booklet.

The SE booklet is a zigzag folded long leaflet.  Nothing as good as those 
that came with Renewal volumes.  Really the LE's big additions are the 2nd 
disc & (depending on scene) original film clip.

The regular DVD is now being sold, 21 May having passed.

TBH, you won't miss much by starting at 1.02, storywise.
