Anno said he leaves it open. He has never said EoE replaces/makes 25 & 26 
obsolete.
Fans may reject the TV ending for differnet personal reasons, but its a 
collective opinion/choice.  Doesn't neccessarily mean the majority makes it 
the ONLY one. :)
