For Rachel, that's a fundamentally incomprehensible notion.  She can't
accept the idea that it's possible that what she holds in her heart is
anything less than cold hard fact.  You'd have a better chance of getting
her to just not say anything at all.  But even then, it's a highly dubious
prospect.  She just doesn't understand that there are some of us out here
that have a different interpretation, and that we're not arguing that it's
right, just that we're entitled to have it, and it would be nice if we
could do without having the other camp try to ram their interpretation
down our throats.

Seriously, there's no consensus on the subject, and until Hideaki Anno
descends from the heavens to deliver unto us a definitive statement on the
subject to lay it all to rest so we can get on with our fucking lives,
there won't be.  Just respect that people have different beliefs and
respect that we aren't interested in yours, and quite frankly we find it
insulting that you're trying to degrade ours and purport yours as absolute
truth.  That's why there's so much fucking shit in this world. 
Intolerance.  And yes, I might be taking this just a bit too seriously,
but I quite frankly don't draw a line of any kind on intolerance.  If
you're intolerant, you're intolerant.
