I think Lt Col is normally ni-sa (ie 2-sa) or chuu-sa.
Col would be tai-sa.

Thanks.  Ritsuko definitely says "Katsuragi ni-sa" after scolding Misato for 
being late, so a Lt. Col. Misato is (as a translation is "Colonel" excusable 
for omitting the "Lieutenant-", if Misato won't be promoted to "tai-sa" 
later?).

I'm guessing the Misato promotion bit won't be in Rebuild, or perhaps the 
entire melting angel story since that was more a character development 
story, for Misato & the kids, when Gendou & Fuyutuski were away.  The 
important part where Gendou praises Shinji will have to be put in somewhere, 
I hope.
