But that wouldn't justify an entire release of the series. I mean, Gainax is
greedy but not THAT greedy. But I guess we won't know until someone gets
their copies of the original show as recorded from TV, which I think a few
of us probably still have, and compare that to the Second Impact DVD box
set.

Oh, I agree. But I think Gainax was still pissed off no matter if it wasn't
technically against the licensing. I suspect that a few fans would have been
willing to import the Subtitled VHS just to get a copy before it was
released in Japan.
>And BTW, what do you exactly mean by "the secret of whose soul is in Unit00

I was making a joke to see if people were paying attention.
As for having both forms of the films, as TV episodes and as movies, I can
understand the decision to have them in just one form. More economical and
honestly, the whole "TV 25 then Movie 25' " bit never really worked for me.
It's one way of looking at the endings, but not really a proper way. Going
25, 25', 26, 26' or the other way around just doesn't mesh.
>Which home video release contain this 'fake' version of Rebirth, actually?
Renewal, and the North American home video release.
